Our trained experts purchase high quality round wood from certified European forest enterprises with sustainable forest management. The most important species hereby is European beech followed by maple, oak and ash. Accurate quality sorting is done with the support of a crane running on tracks. The selected assortments enter a conveyer belt that leads to an automatic debarking unit. Both – a ring debarker and a milling-head debarker are available on-site. Hardwood requires qualified handling! Modern technology is also important in connection with wood processing. The latest accomplishment is the band saw – but also the frame saw is still in use. After sawing the boards can be kiln-dried or steamed. Specially developed kiln-schedules assure a low chance of defects due to dryness. Scientific research has helped to improve air drying, which results in a reduced chance of storage defects. One of the strengths of our company is the uniform colour of the lumber (f.e. beech) – 40 years of steaming experience plus constant improvements made this possible.
